The launch of the Chevrolet Corvette C8 in 2020 was a landmark moment - the first time the American sports car adopted a mid-engine layout, positioning it as a true rival to its European counterparts. At the time, the aviation-inspired cockpit and digital screens were up to par with industry standards. However, six years later, the interior began to feel dated- especially the long row of physical buttons dividing the driver and passenger. For 2026, Chevrolet has taken a significant leap forward, both visually and functionally, by revamping the Corvette’s interior. The cabin now features more advanced technology, additional screens, and a reimagined layout of key elements.
The central 12-inch display in previous models, which appeared small due to its thick bezels, has been replaced with a sleeker and more impactful 12.7-inch panel. Integrated with Google’s ecosystem - including Maps, Assistant, and Play Store - it offers a smoother, more connected experience. This screen is now joined by a 14-inch fully digital instrument cluster that can display more information than ever before: navigation, audio, vehicle status, and more. It dynamically adjusts based on the selected driving mode.
A brand-new 6.6-inch driver-side screen is now included for quick-access information. This area now houses settings for Performance Traction Management (PTM), which were previously harder to access. The simplified menu and customization options significantly enhance driving control.
The striking but impractical row of physical buttons that spanned the cabin from 2020 to 2025 has been reworked. Climate controls are now positioned more traditionally, just below the central air vents, and are easily accessible for both driver and passenger. Some heating and ventilation functions have moved to the touchscreen interface for improved ergonomics.
The rotary dial used for selecting drive modes has been replaced with a smaller toggle switch, which frees up space and places the wireless charger in a more convenient location. A USB-C port has been added on the passenger side near the redesigned door handle. The center console now includes illuminated cup holders with the Corvette logo, while higher trims (2LT/LZ and 3LT/LZ) feature decorative aluminum elements for a more premium feel.
The updated Performance App now displays real-time horsepower and torque distribution across all Corvette models - not just the E-Ray. Acceleration timers are also customizable, allowing drivers to define their own performance metrics. PTM Pro mode offers drivers more freedom by disabling stability and traction controls, while retaining ABS and, in the case of the E-Ray, front axle management for safety.
A new optional electrochromic glass roof regulates sunlight entry and offers selectable tint levels: low, medium, or full darkening.
The ZR1 ZTK package introduces a new brake system featuring front 10-piston and rear 6-piston calipers paired with carbon-ceramic rotors. On the Z06, body-color lower trim pieces are now available (standard on E-Ray). Blue brake calipers are offered as an optional feature on both variants.
The 2026 Corvette update is more than just a visual change. It is a step forward in function, technology, and comfort. This time, the mid-engine American sports car is even more modern and focused on the driver. All of this makes the Corvette stronger in its position as a leader in the sports car class.
